-The overall objective is to increase effective participation of communities in the governance and management of natural resources in county governments. Specifically, the project seeks to enhance community participation in development and implementation of county legislation and policy in county governments
Target Group and Main Beneficiaries
Communities around the Yala Swamp (Busia County & Siaya County)
Estimated Results
-Increased awareness of new devolved governance structures and avenues of public participation in decision making at county government level
- Enhanced participation of communities in decision making regarding natural resource management
Main Activities
-Research on actual avenues for public participation in decision making including laws at the county government level
-Awareness creation meetings in villages across the target area
